An inspiring and emotional story told by Ian Wright the ex-footballer, now presenter talking about his former teacher Mr Pigden. Ian Wright talks about how this teacher became a pivotal figure in his life and a male role model that believed in him. He taught him the power of teamwork and communication. If I can tap into this…these raw emotions, then I can get stakeholders to start committing to my project. Empowering people to realise the importance of recognition for real mentors and to give gratitude to someone for changing our lives for the better. One of the best things about the video is that Mr. Pigden is so unassuming and congratulates Ian on “doing so well for himself.”
This story has been highlighted once again with Ian Wright’s appearance on Desert Island Discs. Each time he tells the story with so much clarity and honesty, and lays his emotions bare.
